In some places in Asia Pacific, like India, our national Christian associates have not been able to receive radio licenses, so for over a decade, HCJB Global has partnered with them in training Christ-followers to produce Christian programs for shortwave radio transmission from HCJB Global-Australia and airing on a countrywide FM radio network.
HCJB Global has assisted with several recording studios for these local believers to produce programs in their own dialects. These studios can easily be “turned into” an on-air radio station if a license for an FM radio station can later be obtained.
Daily shortwave transmissions now captivate listeners in 14 Indian languages plus English (some also reach into Nepal, Pakistan, Bhutan and Bangladesh, where languages are shared). A weekly 30-minute program in the national language of Hindi is heard
throughout the entire country via a network of local FM stations and satellite radio, with a potential audience of 500 million.
Only a tiny fraction of India’s 1.1 billion people are evangelical Christians. But millions are now hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ in their own heart languages through these programs that touch the hearts of those searching for hope and meaning in life and draw them to know Him. Follow-up of listeners and discipleship of believers takes place in conjunction with local churches.

HCJB Global’s radio partner also conducts monthly medical camps and special outreaches for the poor and refugees in communities surrounding Delhi, where Christian ministry is not welcome but healthcare service is. Building relationships and showing the love of Jesus is the focus, and many who have received medical care have become faithful listeners to the radio programs as well.
People are responding to the message of salvation as they hear it on the radio and feel God’s love through medical care.
