The Capital l The People l The Animals

Russia is a BIG country. It covers 17 million sq. km; or in other words it is twice the size of the U.S. From east to west it is a quarter the length of the equator! There are 11 time zones in it and ten seas wash upon its shores. Three of those seas are oceans: Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic. There are three geographical regions in Russia: arctic, sub-arctic and moderate. Mountains, valleys, plains and lakes fill the landscape.
