Blue-footed Boobie – The Blue-footed Boobie is a bird that lives in large colonies on the Galapagos Islands. They actually have big blue feet from which they get their name. They use their big feet to keep their eggs warm!

Iguanas – On the Galapagos there are two varieties of iguanas (a type of big lizard) – the Marine Iguana and the Land Iguana. The Marine Iguanas live on the coast and are black and red in color. The Land Iguanas live inland and are a yellowish-green color.

Sea Lions – More than 50,000 Sea Lions are found in the Galapagos. They live in colonies of up to several hundred along the coast. Sea Lions look like seals, but they have ears!

Tortoises – The Galapagos tortoises are some of the oldest creatures on earth. It is believed that in the wild, they can live over 200 years! Unfortunately, many of these big, slow creatures have been killed and are now on the endangered list. In fact, one tortoise, Lonesome George, is believed to be the last of his subspecies.
