Australia is the only country in the world that is also a continent! This big land has six different states: Western Australia, the Northern Territory, South Australia, Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. The six states are all a little different, but share some features too. They all have a coastline bordering the ocean and they all have the outback. The outback is the name given to the large desert that is in the middle of the Australian continent. There are also rainforests, crocodile-infested marshes, bush and rugged mountains.
