Only a tiny fraction of India’s population of over 1.1 Billion are evangelical Christians. But millions are hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ through shortwave radio and on local FM radio stations! What began as two short evangelistic Christmas and Easter programs aired on local stations (which includes direct-to-home satellite radio) is planned to expand to a weekly half-hour program. Additionally, programs in 14 Indian languages for shortwave transmission are being produced in four studios we installed and equipped in various parts of the country. HCJB Global trains radio broadcasters to reach the unreached in their own languages and to do follow-up and counseling.
Gifts for this project will go for program production for both the FM and shortwave broadcasts, for training of new programmers, and for the follow-up and discipleship of listeners, in conjunction with local churches.
