Millions of people were homeless after a cyclone struck Bangladesh in 2007! But hundreds of people stepped up to help a thousand families that were overlooked by the other relief efforts.
Area director Francis discovered widespread damage in one village across from a river that other relief organizations avoided. As a result, villagers had only received rice from the Bangladesh government. Four local believers joined Christian workers and their field partners to distribute blankets and clothing to the villagers.
Francis said, %u201CWhen we arrived, the recipients were already waiting in very orderly lines. A local pastor told us, %u2018We knew someone would come and check on us. We are encouraged just by you coming here.%u2019%u201D You can help people when they need it most.
