While on vacation, Pastor John Rittenhouse came upon an unopened suitcase by the side of the road. The only hint to the owners identity was inside: a valuable gold coin with an inscription that read, Presented to Otis Sampson.
John tracked down Otis, who exuberantly instructed John to discard the suitcase, but send the coin. Is my most prized possession, he said.
John sent the coin, but included a letter telling Otis what Jesus Christ meant to him.
Months later, Pastor Rittenhouse received a package at Christmas, containing the gold coin. You were the first to tell me about Jesus, Otis wrote. Now He's my most prized possession.
