Ideas for Ministry Follow-UpAs we have already indicated, Listeners’ Clubs are simply a vehicle to capitalize share Jesus’ love through learning English. Here are some ideas for ministry follow-up. 1. Invite Listeners to your church. Try to partner with an English speaking church. We want the Listeners to feel comfortable in the church environment. If it is an English speaking church they can hear English spoken and perhaps chat with native English speakers. This also gives the church the opportunity to reach out to the community in a significant way. At the outset, the opportunity to practice English is usually the driving force for those who attend. However, our experience has been that once they are hearing the Word of God they are doubly motivated to attend Sunday services. 2. If there is no English speaking church in your area, try having a translator there to translate the sermon into English for your Listeners. Announce which Sunday the sermon will be translated for them and send out an email reminder.
3. Prepare a Sunday school class or Bible study in Specialized English for those learning English. This is a great time to review the sermon, learn new vocabulary and idioms or teach from structured Bible study material. 4. Invite Bible study ministries to begin studies in English with your Listeners. (Precept, Bible Study Fellowship, Beth Moore etc.). Be creative! Enjoy your Listeners. You’ll be surprised how many new friends you make |
