Responding Today to the Rising Waters in Ecuador |
|
The waters are rising right now and the people of Ecuador are experiencing a true emergency.
- More than 25 inches of rain in recent weeks
- More than 17 deaths
- Widespread damage to homes and crops
- A national state of emergency
Doctor from recent Emergency medical Response trip to Mexico treats a young boy
In this urgent situation HCJB Global is responding with the Voice and Hands of Jesus:
- Our HCJB Global Hands ministry is mobilizing three emergency medical response teams to visit the area, each planning a weeklong visit. The first international team, comprised of three Ecuadorian doctors from the mission’s Hospital Vozandes-Quito, a U.S. nurse from Vozandes Community Development and an Ecuadorian logistics person from the Hospital Vozandes-Shell, is already on the scene. Future teams will also include staff members from Australia, Germany and the U.K. We hope to provide care for up to 2,000 patients and provide food and supplies to many more.
-
Our HCJB Global Voice ministry is also playing a key part. Our radio stations in Ecuador have begun a fundraising and food collection campaign. We have already seen Ecuadorian Christians raise hundreds of dollars and donate many pounds of food.
Will you join the Ecuadorian church? Help us fully fund this emergency response!
We need to raise $12,000 for these three medical teams and all of the food and supplies we plan on sending. Here are a few examples of how the funds will be used:
- 1 day’s worth of medicine will cost $100.
- 1 week’s worth of food for a family will cost $25.
- 1 weeklong trip for our doctors will cost between $1,000 and $3,000.
This is your chance to be the Voice and Hands of Jesus for the people in Ecuador!
In Him,
Dave Johnson
President, HCJB Global
P.S. In the coming days you will be seeing stories, testimonies, photos and video from our teams. Join us in showing the love of Christ to the lost in Ecuador.
