Topsy Turtle

Talia peered out the window at a ladybug that was spinning around on the back of her shell. It's legs were waving wildly in the air.

"Look, Mama! The bug can't get up!"

Talia's mother looked over Talia's shoulder at the helpless ladybug. "You're right, Talia. That bug needs help to stand back up."

Talia looked at her mother. "Should we help it?"

"Well, in the Bible it says, 'If one falls down, his friend can help him up, but pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up.'"

"Yes, Mama, but that's a bug not a man!" Talia giggled.

Talia's mother smiled. "Let me tell you a story about Topsy Turtle."

"OK!" Talia grinned and climbed up to a seat at the kitchen table. Her mother sat down beside her.

"Once there was a turtle named Topsy Turvy . . ."
