"Obedience is the first thing about being wise," Cody Coney said. And Cody really knew, because he was almost caught by a dog when he was really little. One day he had gone outside of his shelter and into the meadow when he was supposed to be in bed taking his nap. His daddy came and rescued him, and he never again went out without permission.

"Responsibility is important too," said Andy Ant. You should hear uncle tell about when he and his friends left the ant nest. I bring food in for the winter and do it without waiting for someone to tell me. That’s important too. I know because the King tells us so."

"We have to work together," said Lonny Locust. "One time my dad and his friends harvested a whole crop – just like an army! The King even said so!"

They continued to talk about their adventures and soon began talking about what they wanted to be when they grew up.
