Pray for God’s ongoing financial provision for the partner station in Slovakia and that the audio content would reach local listeners through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Betty Van Engen, Quito: “Pray that I would be sensitive to God’s leading in making decisions in response to the many changes taking place in the mission’s Latin America Region. Pray also for God’s wisdom and the Holy Spirit’s leading in my ministry as a counselor, addressing the complex and diverse needs of HIV/AIDS patients. I also help as a counselor in a ministry called The Way Out.” Betty serves as a nurse/counselor in the HIV/AIDS clinic at Hospital Vozandes-Quito.

Praise God that staff members in the Asia Pacific Region helped start six media outlets (including five FM stations), repaired four other outlets and held six radio training events in the first quarter of 2013. Pray for continued open doors and for endurance for the staff and partners to maintain this pace.

Praise God for a second radio installation and announcer training in a northern Thailand province where suicide is reportedly high. A local hospital sent seven nurses and staff to be trained as announcers for the new station, recognizing the impact of the first station. Praise Him for the many listeners coming to Christ.

Pray for heath and stamina for an HCJB Global partner and his family in Croatia as they deal with prolonged sickness. Pray as they resume work on projects, including an Internet radio station launch that had to be pushed back due to the family’s health issues.

Pray for God’s leading for teachers and students as several Apoyo events are held in Cuba in the next two weeks, including two teaching workshops for church leaders and the last module of a master’s program in leadership.

Praise the Lord for the opportunity that new HCJB Global appointee Emily Ibarra had to provide video production support for three ministry partners in Peru in April. She also helped distribute fixed-tuned, solar-powered SonSet^® radios to listeners of the partner station in the country’s remote Cotahuasi Canyon.

Glenn & Bonnie Lafitte, McAllen, TX: “Praise God for permission from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to move to the next phase of a new name/logo for the World Radio Network (a cooperating ministry of HCJB Global). Pray for a smooth transition and implementation of the new name, InspiraCom. Also uphold Glenn as he pursues a leadership studies program at a local university and Bonnie takes a Christian Writers Guild course.” Glenn is chief executive officer of the WRN; Bonnie serves as a musician, writer and editor of NetNews.

Pray as refurbishments to HCJB Global-UK’s offices in Bradford are completed this month. Pray for additional help in the IT department. Uphold British working visitors Steve and Ruth Pike who recently arrived in Ecuador to join the community development team, serving in clean water projects and communications.

Pray for God’s guidance in finding people to fill some significant vacancies at HCJB Global-Australia’s international broadcast facility in Kununurra this year due to staff retirements. At least one broadcast engineer, a handyman and a general manager are needed.

Pray for the transition as Spanish radio programs now distributed by ALAS, the Latin American satellite network, will switch to Internet stream distribution. Some 56 stations in Latin America, the U.S. and Spain currently download programming via satellite.

Pray for community development nurse Miriam Gebb as she plans two-month, biannual trips to rural Brazil to train trainers who can help their own people learn principles of hygiene and disease prevention.

Pray for fruitful outcomes from the Global Voice Leadership Institute being held in Nepal for the first time May 6-9. Pray for good health for visiting teachers Ron and Barb Cline, Derek Kickbush and Ty Stakes. Give thanks for the local radio station managers who are also participating in the teaching.

Josh & Kristen Gee, U.K.: “Ask God to provide new information technology (IT) missionaries and to provide financially for those currently raising support. Josh has been carrying a lot of extra responsibilities since the departure of a co-worker. Pray for physical health and strength. As a family we have faced one challenge after another this year. Uphold Cassia who struggles with her hearing every time she gets a cold.” Josh serves as director of information security and regional IT administrator.

Pray for safe travels, good attendance and generous giving as HCJB Global-Canada holds nine fellowship dinners throughout Ontario this month with guest Paraguayan harpist Eduard Klassen. Give thanks that radio partner Theo Asare of Accra, Ghana, will join the team for three of the dinners.

Pray for additional staff members to join the team at the audio production studio operated by HCJB Global’s partner in India.

On this missionwide Day of Prayer and Praise, uphold HCJB Global’s summer interns as they prepare to serve on four continents in areas such as healthcare, engineering, community development and communications. Pray as they raise financial support and that the Lord would prepare their hearts for ministry.

•    Praise God for a work team that helped partner Kids Alive International build a fourth residential home at its orphanage in Cap-Haitien, Haiti, in February.

•    Pray as Jeff and Jackie Benedict settle back into the work in Elkhart after their time of service in the Asia Pacific region. Praise God for His provision of housing.

•    Give thanks that Alan Good made repairs to the radio transmitter being used by partner Laban Ministries in Kinshasa, Dem. Rep. of Congo, in March. He also helped with a site survey for a potential solar-powered station.

•    Praise God for the 10 engineering students from Cedarville University who helped during spring break.
