Around the world, communities are being transformed as young people gain knowledge of leadership skills and begin to practice what they have learned through ministry to others. Here are some highlights of 2011:

• Held highly successful summer internship programs with 25 students in four regions (Europe/Eurasia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and North Africa/Middle East) as well as the HCJB Global Technology Center in Elkhart, IN, and the HCJB Global Ministry Service Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
• Presented radio training with partners in Croatia and helped build a studio which will be used to produce online broadcasts starting in early 2012.
• Presented a “Global Voice and Hands” workshop at the Africa by Radio conference in Accra, Ghana, with 95 delegates from 19 African countries and five countries outside of Africa.
• Trained more than 150 radio announcers in the Asia Pacific Region.
• Joined with African Bible College University in Yekepa, Liberia, to teach communications classes and launch a campus radio station.
• Assisted with the third annual Misión a Bordo (Mission Aboard) missions conference on board the ship, Evangelista, which traveled along the Ucayali River in Peru with 70 participants.
• Helped train the first Quichua believer from Ecuador to be sent as a missionary to serve in a security-sensitive country. He completed the Corrientes program in Quito for bi-vocational ministry.
• Began the 27th year of teaching in the Christian Center of Communications in Quito, Ecuador, while making plans to transition the program to a new educational model of distance learning with Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN, that will involve Apoyo, Corrientes, media training and medical training in Latin America.
• Facilitated leadership workshops through Apoyo for pastors in Bolivia, Peru, Cuba, Panama and Guatemala and for HCJB Global missionaries and national staff in Ecuador.
