Radio Station HCJB operates both a local AM and FM station in Quito with broadcasts primarily in Spanish. Programs target an upper middle class audience, offering contemporary and some classical music with intermittent gospel messages.
HCJB-2, an FM station in the coastal city of Guayaquil, opened in 1972. Programs include contemporary and easy-listening music, gospel messages and locally produced programs.
There are also FM repeaters in Ambato, Esmeraldas, Machala, Manta /Portoviejo and Papallacta, an Andean village that is home to HCJB Global’s hydroelectric facilities.
