APOYO

Americo Saavedra answers student's questions during a Pastor's workshop.Apoyo is a support ministry to the growing churches of Latin America where there is a severe shortage of trained leaders. Apoyo’s vision is to develop mature pastoral leaders who build healthy churches to accomplish God’s global mission. Its mission is to equip church leaders by providing in-depth training for the multiplication of disciples with a passion for God, His church and the world. From its office based in Quito, Ecuador, Apoyo serves Central and South America, and the Caribbean since 1992.

Strategy

•  Leadership Learning Workshops

This approach to leadership development is coming alongside a selected group of godly learners who hunger to grow and mature in the likeness of Christ. Following Paul’s discipleship model found in 2 Timothy 2:2, Apoyo engages participants in purposeful activities whose ultimate goal is to help them become lifelong learners with a passion to disciple others.  Areas of focus include the development of biblical knowledge, character, skills, and relationships. The goal is to maximize their leadership potential for Kingdom-building purposes.

•  Christian Education Workshops

These workshops are strategically designed for Sunday school teachers, Christian educators and cell group leaders. Our staff both teaches how to effectively communicate and live out biblical truths in relevant and age-appropriate ways.

•  Partnerships

One of Apoyo’s main strategies is to partner with Western churches, mission agencies and national churches in order to accomplish its goals.

During the past year Apoyo has held Leadership Learning Workshops for pastoral leaders in Peru, Guatemala, Cuba, Bolivia, Panama, Ecuador, and Colombia as well as Christian Education Workshops in Cuba.
